Since launching in 2019 as a part of J-PAL Africa\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/click.email.povertyactionlab.org\/?qs=d149abff4c30fb3c205d63cfc7cd8c6be3b593a24ef3077a2a430e7fcd246f6714d36790230522c3837e88aa3bac05002baf89ac3e511f36\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digital Identification and Finance Initiative<\/a>, the program expanded rapidly to include the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/click.email.povertyactionlab.org\/?qs=d149abff4c30fb3c6a2cfd5228f2382cb3ee5f3d3af8105aca93ae72c443ff141836f39e5e0cd0db02f62af4687490a87ee11557999a3237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jobs and Opportunity Initiative<\/a>&nbsp;in 2021 and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/click.email.povertyactionlab.org\/?qs=36e76a8c13d751a84590b29b58e2cf6b0127a39b6c6426891350155051e90175bcb5a3e858fcd0523921efd2b7fb3b6344c605845c1c3d6e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digital Agricultural and Services Initiative<\/a>&nbsp;in 2022. Most recently, it has grown to include the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/click.email.povertyactionlab.org\/?qs=36e76a8c13d751a866ef92ed10583fe620cf2be87631b239341ef508c13f06183a294fc261d0dbfc36fec964529fc9a91970d41f109d62e4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learning for All Initiative<\/a>&nbsp;in 2023.<br><br>To date, the African Scholars Program has provided funding for 65 researchers across thirty research projects based in eleven countries, with a total allocation of over $800,000. In addition to funding for research, the program also aims to widen the network of African academics leading randomized evaluations by providing mentorship, training, and networking opportunities to the scholars.<br><br>We recently had the privilege of meeting with some of our scholars in person.
