As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen faith-based responses to Gender-Based Violence (GBV)<\/strong>, the Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI)<\/strong> supported the inauguration of the Prevention of GBV Committee<\/strong> at a local church in Ibadan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event marked a major milestone<\/strong> in YCDEI\u2019s faith-focused GBV intervention, which seeks to equip Christian communities with the knowledge and tools to create safe and supportive spaces<\/strong> for women, girls, and vulnerable individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inauguration ceremony brought together church leaders, committee members, and community representatives, all united by a shared vision, to make the church a place of refuge, not silence, for survivors of abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YCDEI facilitators emphasized the critical role of faith leaders in shaping beliefs and guiding behavioral change. They also reminded the church community that preventing GBV is not just a social responsibility but a spiritual calling rooted in love, justice, and equality.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the inauguration, the committee began outlining an action plan<\/strong> that includes awareness through sermons, counselling support, and regular monitoring to ensure early response to any reported cases. YCDEI pledged continuous mentorship and technical support to help the committee implement its mandate effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
