In commemoration of the “World Children’s Day 2023” on November 20, 2023, the Child Protection Network (CPN) in Oyo State, in conjunction with Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI) and some other NGOs in Ibadan organized a powerful rally in front of the Governor’s Office at the Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan. The event, which was led by the CPN coordinator, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ogedengbe, passionately appealed to the governor against the potential conversion of the cherished Trans Amusement Park in Ibadan into a housing estate, emphasizing the rights of every child under the Oyo State Child Rights Law (CRL) 2006.

In solidarity, YCDEI and other NGOs expressed their gratitude to the Governor, His Excellency, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde for considering this plea, reinforcing the belief that safeguarding children’s rights is fundamental to sustainable development in Oyo State. Together, they stand united for a brighter, more child-friendly future.
