Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative was started in 1977 by a group of concerned women who were passionate about the education and youth, but registered in 2014 with Corporate Affairs Commission as a not-for-profit, Non-Governmental Organization, determined to effect change in the society to achieve a society motivated to act by the fact that people, girls, and women living in the poorest communities in Nigeria are unable to achieve healthy and fulfilling lives as a consequence of interconnected deficits of basic resources, facilitates services, self- efficiency, social capital, organization capacity, law and rights, and fundamental security.
YcDEI extensively employs strategies such as community dialogue, consultative sessions, community education, public enlightenment, knowledge building, and media programs (print, electronic, and social) to equip individuals with the resources and support they need.
