On October 5, 2025, the Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI) hosted a Town Hall Meeting focused on preventing gender-based violence (GBV) through the collaboration of faith leaders. The event fostered an atmosphere of camaraderie and purpose, driven by the belief that faith can aid positive change.

The day commenced with participants connecting and reinforcing the importance of collaboration between faith-based organizations and community groups in tackling GBV. The first session educated attendees on the nature and consequences of GBV, emphasizing the critical need to break the culture of silence surrounding it.

During the second session, faith leaders learned practical ways to incorporate GBV prevention messages into sermons and counseling sessions, promoting open dialogue and education within their congregations. Participants actively engaged in exercises to translate these insights into actionable strategies tailored for their communities.

The event concluded with an action planning session where leaders outlined how they would take the knowledge gained back to their congregations and partner with YCDEI to maintain the momentum in the fight against GBV.

The Town Hall Meeting highlighted the significant role of faith leaders in reshaping narratives and fostering compassion, demonstrating that when faith and action intersect, transformation is possible.
