In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2025, Youthcare Development and Empowerment Initiative (YCDEI) continues to amplify its mission to empower and support girls. This year’s activities was focused on reminding and inspiring the girl child that she can be an agent of change anywhere she finds herself. YCDEI’s team visited Bishop Olabanjo School and Oluyoro Girls Grammar School in Ibadan, reaching more than 650 girls with knowledge and resources.

Our activities aligned with this year’s global theme for the International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC): “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.” During the sessions, we provided valuable lessons on leadership and who a girl child is and can become in the future. The heartfelt discussions also highlighted the significance of menstrual health education and reinforced YCDEI’s commitment to restoring dignity, fostering confidence, and ensuring that no girl is left behind.

Over 650 girls received sanitary pads to help them handle their menstruation hygienically. This celebration not only addressed immediate needs but also showed our ongoing dedication to creating a safe and equitable environment for young girls. By equipping them with the skills and support they need, we help them maintain their education, pursue their aspirations, and become agents of change in their communities.

YCDEI expresses deep gratitude to our partners, donors, and supporters who donated to these outreach efforts. Collectively, we can empower the next generation of female leaders.
